Duck Hunting In New England
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
Here are some photos from our Christmas duck hunts on the New England coast this season. Our coldest morning has been 24 degrees. Not too bad if there is no wind and you are dressed for it. Everything is frozen, however. Boat engines and fuel lines and dock lines and hunters…
But there is just something deep inside me that loves being in a salt marsh in December. I know I see things and feel things that most people will never ever experience. There is a strange sense of peace there and an acute awareness of the coming and going of the ducks and all of nature; moving at it’s own pace, on it’s own schedule, and you realize that man is completely disconnected from it. It takes time to see and sense and feel but it is all there. And for a brief moment I can feel the clock turn back time and go to where we have come from, and reluctantly move forward again, to where we are.
Season’s Greetings & Merry Christmas.
