Fish Still Here
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
We duck hunted this morning and it was very slow with very few birds flying. But it was lovely on the water.
I scouted this evening for striped bass and there are several schools working around the bay at 5PM. A large school of fish near shore just south of PPB with a lot of birds working. The fish are moving fast and not holding. Chasing peanut bunker.
Also, two large schools of bass out in the middle of Dux bay and some small bands of bass very tight to the Beach Road spraying peanut bunker right up to the beach. I watched this fast moving school for quite a while and it was awesome to see them operating up close and personal. They really had a bait ball going and were pushing it right up the shoreline at a good clip towards the PPB. Hard to keep up with them. The fish were not big. Schoolies in the mid-high twenty inches.
I did not check Plymouth or Kingston this evening, but I am sure striped bass were there as well. The Fall Run continues… Winds craning 20+ knots out of the south this evening.
