A Few Fish Still Passing Through / New Italian Cafe In Town
Greetings from Capt. Dave & Baymen!
A quick update on the fish. A smattering of striped bass still passing through our bay on SOME days. Most of them on the incoming, top of the tides. Many/most have lockjaw and will take almost nothing, which has been a consistent and frustrating pattern inside the bay this fall. I bet if John Cook was still living, he would have the recipe and be slamming fish! His Gray & White Epoxy Minnow with a silver side, and about 1″ long, was a killah when the fish went selective. John was a frequent customer to my fly and tackle shop back in the early 2000’s and his wife was our Town Clerk.
Well, I will continue to poke around the bay and hope to get into that last Fall Run Blitz where the fish are all huge and they will slam a Baymen Universal or a topwater Spook with gusto! Stay Posted…
On another note, many of my clients like to hit up French Memories pastry/coffee/beakfast/lunch cafe when in town. Great place! Another Cafe has just opened up on Tremont street in Duxbury that is is every bit as good as French Memories – except this one is 100% Italiano – CAFE VIOLA. Francesco is straight from Italy and he and his crew bake fresh bread HOURLY, and also make all their own Italian pastries, coffees, and also serve a full breakfast/lunch/dinner menu. All Italian. It is all over the top fresh and the real deal 100%. Here is their website: cafeviolaus.com
That’s the word for today. I pulled my back out hauling a canoe loaded down with gear. So, I am off to the chiropractor to get it popped back into place. #guidelife.
Wishing you all a great day and talk soon.
Sincerely,
Capt. David Bitters, BAYMEN, baymenlife.com Soli Deo Gloria!
