Ice Fishing Time
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
I took the day off today to celebrate somebody’s birthday. Just a day, solo, to relax and chill, and leave all of the social media worries behind. But I guess I am here on the Baymen website LOL…
I set my Jack Traps this morning after using my father’s spud bar to cut through 4″ inches of ice. I baited my hooks with shiners and kept them close to the surface, with the deepest ones four feet down. WHAM! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ……
The fish were hungry today. I had nine runs, I missed six that spit the shiners before I could set the hooks, and I brought three nice rainbows up through the ice and into my waiting cooler! Fresh trout and venison is on the menu tonight at camp BAYMEN.
If you are looking to buy some ice fishing gear, I recommend Jack Traps in Monmouth, Maine. They will ship you whatever you need. They make very good ice fishing traps and gear.
I wish you all a great weekend. We have some snow coming. Weatherman says 5″ inches. This will be the first time I have had to shovel snow this winter. Not bad for living on the New England Coast.
Tight Lines, Keep The Faith, Be Alert, Stay Safe.
