Duck Blind Etiquette
Greetings from Capt.Dave & BAYMEN!
My duck blind has been repaired and re-grassed for the season, with special thanks to my friend Jim. We have added a lock on the door and posted two signs that read PRIVATE BLIND and DO NOT ENTER new for the 2024 season. Here’s why:
Last season, on three different occasions, strangers went to my blind, put out their rig of decoys, opened up the blind, and made themselves at home! When I arrived with clients or friends to hunt my blind, strangers were already inside with their decoys set up out front.
It should go without saying, if you come across a duck blind anywhere that is not yours, don’t use it. Do your own scouting and find a place to build your own blind, and boat out your supplies and build it with your friends and enjoy it with your friends. And make new friends and invite them out with you to enjoy a morning of duck hunting and to learn what duck hunting is all about.
I have been guiding for a living for 31 years. My clients pay me to do the scouting, pick the locations, build the blinds, rig the decoys and call in the ducks. It would be my sincere pleasure to offer my guide services to anyone interested in duck hunting with me at my blinds. Shoot me an e-mail with any questions or to inquire about open dates.
Be safe, follow all local, state and Federal laws and enjoy a great season in the woods and on the water.
Sincerely,
Capt. David Bitters, Baymen Guide Service, Inc. www.baymenlife.com
