24 Fish, Light Tackle Baymen Jigs!
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
Another great morning on the bay. One of my regulars, Rolando Jeter, on board for light tackle striped bass. Rolando has been fishing with me for close to twenty years.
At first light, overcast and fog on a dead low incoming tide. Fewer fish in the bay this morning compared to yesterday, but still great action if you had the right tackle and techniques and knew where to look for fish.
Rolando crushed it on light tackle Baymen Jigs. Top water action and also deep bottom fishing. Once again we fish 1.9 fow (!) to 64 fow. We found fish in many of my spots, but also had a few spots void of all bait and bass. Once the fog cleared and the high pressure set it the bite shut right down and most of the fish left the bay along with the bait. Strange how that works…
Total catch and release today: 24 fish, 5 slot keepers and 1 over slot. All on light tackle Baymen Jigs that are tied exactly like my Baymen Universal Fly that is fished around the world.
Back at it – STAY POSTED. We are just getting started.
