Injury Update: Two Steps Backwards
INJURY UPDATE – Two Steps Backwards
Greetings from Capt. Dave Y& BAYMEN!
We were doing aggressive PT on my rotator cuff because I was making such amazing progress. August 11 was set as my return date to get back on the bay and get my charters into fish for the second half of the season. Unfortunately, the RC/Tear has become very aggravated and very inflamed, and very painful – again. I am back to ten days of strict rest and all-day icing off and on. Then a reassessment and start up PT again… I literally had turned the corner and was feeling amazing! But you can’t rush a Rotator Cuff tear into healing. Any further tearing and I am heading to surgery with up to one year of recovery. Today, I am back to square one. I can do the basic daily things, drive, etc. but have been warned to do nothing but ice and rest for the next ten days. Then PT will start up again, a little slower and less aggressive…
Stay Posted.
