Another Trip Up North
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
Back from another trip in Northern New England… Can’t stay away. One thing I really enjoy in my travels is meeting new people and hearing their stories of life. Some of them are wonderful and some of them will bring tears to your eyes and try to break you. On this trip, I met a wonderful 80 year old woman who lost her husband thirty years ago, and still talks non-stop about him like it was yesterday. True love. I also met a man who is in poor health and struggling with serious addictions. To top it off, he just buried his father. He is fighting demons. A few months back on another trip, I met with a fellow law enforcement officer at a coffee shop. He appeared to be everything a law enforcement officer should be in appearance, accomplishments, and conversation in every way. The kind of man you wish all law enforcement officers would strive to be. Husband, father, ethically and morally upright, thirty years old with his whole life ahead of him. There is a Bible verse in 1 Corinthians 2:11a in the Holy Bible that says: “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man which is in him?” A few weeks after meeting with this officer, he committed suicide. Took his own life. All I can do is pray for those who love life, those who are struggling in life, and those who have given up on life. Every man’s heart needs to know God loves him and that the secret of life is to know God. No matter where you are in your life, know that God loves you and you need to put all of your faith and trust in him. He will bless you, and carry you, and lead you every moment of every day in your own life Journey. Jesus said he is the way, the truth, and the life and I believe him. Soli Deo Gloria.
