9 Fish
On board today I had regulars, Gary Condon, Greg Powers and Matt Daily for light tackle striped bass.
Winds today continued to be relentless out of the West, white-capped most of the morning. This was a “clearing wind” and it was pushing out a low pressure system from last night. The past two days the winds blew a strong SW. The overall result was water temps took a nose dive, dropping a whopping 13 degrees! That in turn, shut down the bite and pushed the big pods of bait and bass out of the bay. So, now we wait and watch and hope that tonight’s north wind brings some fish and bait back into the bay. Saturday could turn NE late in the day…
All this of course did not dampen our efforts and enjoyment of being on the bay today. The crew worked hard and were relentless in searching for fish holding on structure around the bay. They caught every single fish in the bay today and that number was nine (9) fish. And Gary served a nice coffee and muffin for breakfast and a full lunch during our break. So, we made the best of it and enjoyed a fun morning. The fish will return.
One other note, I counted over a dozen seals in the bay today. And we all know what likes to eat seals. Be careful and aware out there.
Back at it. Stay Posted.
