273 Fish
On board today, I had repeat clients Frank Harrington, Ken Harshorn, and Frank’s sons, Greg and Frank, Jr. for light tackle striped bass.
At first light we got into fish and it pretty much continued all morning. Several schools of bass moving south in the migration and passing through our bay. A lot of small bait inside the bay but no sign of pogies. Also, we did not see any seals! That is a first for us in a long time. So, the striped bass could feed in peace without being chased by a dozen of more seals we typically see.
All fish were on topwater pushing bait to the surface. Rubber cranks were the top tackle. We also got into a few small blues mixed in with the bass. A lovely, near flat-calm morning.
Total catch and release today was two-hundred-seventy-three striped bass between 14″-27″ inches. A great day on the bay and our best day this season.
