15 Fish
On board today, I had repeat clients Molly and Chris DeVillers for LT striped bass.
At first light, a stunning sunrise and overcast skies. It was a breezy West wind. As the morning went on, the breeze laid down and the skies cleared.
We fished my Baymen Jig and rubber cranks today in multiple places all over the bay. Deep up into Kingston and Duxbury was void of bait and bass. We checked on about ten of my spots around the bay and finally found a ball of bait and bass – with lockjaw! They would not hit a thing. So we gave them a rest and found another pod of fish about a mile away. Those fish hit on almost every drift.
Later in the morning, we went back to the fish with lockjaw and still found a fishable bunch there. But like the first time around, they would touch nothing.
Today was all structure fishing. No bait, no birds and very few bass inside the bay. We ended the morning with fifteen fish total and came in to sunny blue skies and calm seas.
