1 Fish
Back on the bay today with Richard Comstock, armed with fly gear, with high hopes of some fish coming in on the morning tide. No luck. The bay from Gurnet to Kington, Duxbury & Plymouth (25 square miles) remains nearly void of bait and bass. We did find a school of pogy and they were relaxed and feeding with not a bass chasing them. Amazing… We did, however, set a new record: Richard hooked into the tiniest striped bass ever landed on a fly, on a Baymen Charter! This fish was so small, you could fit it in your pocket and still have room for your wallet and a bag of candy!
So, we called the trip early and re-booked for a better day. Our bay is going to be flooded with bait, bass and birds any day now. We wait and eagerly watch for the Spring Blitz to finally kick in and stay in for a solid month or more… Just South of us, my friends are slamming the bass, healthy schoolies and monster-big striped bass. Send them our way, please.
