Stripers Trickling In
On the bay this am for a final day of recon before charters start rolling. Quiet but picking up out there. A smattering of fish starting to trickle into the bay. A few birds starting to look around. Bait was very sparse this am. My guess is by Monday, things should really start to crank up. Still a lot of fish just south of us from the Canal to the tip of the Cape.
I picked up a few fish this morning on my Baymen Jig available at Jecks Bucktails online. It is my time tested pattern (22 seasons) tied on a 3/8 oz black jig head. The pattern opens and closes and looks a lot like a squid swimming through the water. You can cast and Baymen Bounce it back, or troll it. And of course, you can jig it in deeper waters.
Stay posted. Should start to pick up soon. I will post pics and updates here and also on my FB pages (see links on left).
Tight Lines!
