Striper Season Begins!
We kick off our striped bass charters this week in earnest. We are booked up solid with clients from all around the country with a ton of repeats. The fish are pretty much on time and the big schools of stripers are just south of us now and heading our way. “Tricklers” are being caught from the North River to Green Harbor to Plymouth to the Cape Cod Canal. South side of Cape continues to be the hot spot with reports of acres of spring blitzing fish.
Mack and sea herring are trickling in, out front as well. Hard work to get them right now, but if you are persistent, you can get a dozen.
Right Whales have been all over our beach for about a week. But our sightings are starting to slow down and I am guessing these giants are moving on. Our best day of sighting day was ten whales right off Duxbury.
Its all starting to bust wide open. As I type this, osprey are circling over my office and squacking up a storm. River herring, as you know, are thick as flies this spring, in all the runs. Great to see and rumors flying around of a season on them for next year…
Follow my posts and follow me on FB. My links are to the left of this page. We will be posting up photos of all our daily adventures from here on out. The season has started!
