Perfect Fly Rod Set-Up
If you fly fish for striped bass, consider my current set-up. I am casting an 8WT Temple Fork Axiom II fly rod, loaded with an intermediate sinking line, a 15lb straight mono leader of 6-9 feet, and a modified Baymen Universal fly pattern. This rod is very light, very powerful in the casting stroke, and almost “springy” in how it feels but very smooth. There is also a TFO Axion II X that recently came out but I have not cast it – yet. Check out Temple Fork Rods online and give the Axiom II a try. If you are looking for light weight and power in an 8WT, I highly recommend it.
If you fish light tackle, check out their TAC Inshore series. I have been using the 7′ and 7-6″ spinning rod TAC ISS 764-1 and it is an awesome light tackle rod!
