55 Fish on LT
On board today, regulars, Chris & Molly DeVillers, and their god-daughter, Emily, for light tackle striped bass. At first light, SW, breezy and half-tide dropping. Water temps 70 degrees to 64 degrees. Air temps – humid and hot.
First spot of the morning we found fish hugging the bottom in 16 fow. We dropped our rubber cranks down on top of them and WHAM! We began to hook up right away. Second spot had no fish but the third spot of the morning had a handful of fish along the drop-offs along the flats. We fished these areas on the dropping until slack, in Plymouth waters.
Next up, we ran across the bay and checked on one of spots that has been producing fish fairly regularly. Bingo! They were there and I counted 82 fish on my sonar in one school! We set multiple drifts and landed fish on every single drift. We had many double and triple hook-ups throughout the morning.
Total catch and release today was 55 striped bass on light tackle. Top tackle was rubber crankbaits and Baymen Jigs. All fish were on the bottom. A wonderful morning with this crew that has been fishing with me for many years. Always so much fun!
