On board today, I had regular, Dick Bowman, for light tackle striped bass.
At first light, we had a low incoming tide and lots of fish moving about the bay. The fall run has started and fish were on topwater and under birds driving bait to the surface. The fish are on the move and migrating south. New schools should be filtering in and out of the bays up and down the coast for a solid month.
Most of the fish we got into today were schoolie bass, all fat and healthy and all sizes. We also had a school of keeper come rolling bay the boat and Dick nailed a good one on a topwater lure. A few hours later, another school of keepers came through and Dick landed another keeper on a 5″ pearl rubber crank bait. Pearl and white are the hot colors at the moment.
It's all in the bag. Angler, Dick Bowman.

Most of our fish were in 3-5 fow, some were in the channels in about 12 fow. Big fish were marked down deeper (really big!) and some big fish were with the schoolies but in groups of their own size. Some nice explosions on topwater and a lot of blow-ups on the topwater tackle.
We had rain, wind, a rainbow and then calm seas out of the W/NW. A nice day after yesterday’s heavy downpours and steady NE wind right out of the gate.
Total catch and release today was 48 striped bass, including two keepers! The fall run has started.
I have September 4th and 19th available. The 2019 season is 40% booked. Don’t wait, lock in the prime dates before they are gone…
