21 Fish on LT
On board today, I repeat client, Eddie from Idaho, who is a good friend of my client, Billy Tedeschi. Billy could not make it today so he sent Eddie in his place for light tackle striped bass.
At first light, flat calm seas and a light SSE wind. We cut across the bay and set up drifts on structure with topwater spooks and began hooking up right away. Lots of small fish in the bay today. We worked our way around the shoreline of Duxbury Bay and picked up fish all along the way.
After fishing Duxbury waters, we ran to Plymouth and Kingston. NO FISH in Kingston waters for us. But we did pick up some fish in Plymouth. After that run, we decided to run recon around Brown’s Bank and found fish almost to the #1. A few birds were working the very small school of fish and that helped us stay with them as they ran crazy around the bank looking for baitfish. We saw one big blow up on topwater that was a good fish. But it was solo and was moving fast and we did not even get a cast to that fish. We did hook up on several other fish.
Total catch and release today was 21 fish, all fat cookie cutters to 25″ inches. Topwater spooks and rubber cranks down deep were the top lures of the morning.
Back at it. STAY POSTED:
