15 Stripers
Saturday, May 16, 2015
On board today, I had repeat client, Richard Comstock, for Day Two of fly fishing for striped bass!
A lovely morning on the bay, fishing the incoming tide. Stripers were active on topwater and small schools came inside, starting at Bug Light. Then, they broke off into several smaller pods of fish and we drifted along with them and followed the around the bay.
There was double the amount of fish in the bay today, compared to what we saw on Friday and they were not as finicky today, taking our fly patterns more readily.
There were quite a few boats on the bay chasing the fish, so it was challenging to jockey for position to set our drifts. We ended the morning with a total of 15 fish landed and released. The biggest fish was 27″ inches.
