121 Fish…!!!
On board today, regulars Frank Harrington and sons Brian and Frank IV, and Ken Hartshorn, for light tackle striped bass. This great crew has been fishing with me for many years.
At first light – bay stacked with fish! And it never let up the entire morning! Tons of bass schooled up on bait. Some topwater but most of the fish were hugging the bottom – the theme this entire season so far. We fished 7 fow to 40 fow and found bass everywhere.
The current fish in the bay are really healthy, fat, hard fighting striped bass. Crazy runs with reels screaming. Several times today we had four hook-ups on at once – including the first four casts of the morning! What a way to start the trip! We also had so many triple hook-ups that I lost count. Rods were bent over all morning long non-stop.
The top tackle today: Capt. Dave’s BAYMEN Jig. The fish absolutely crushed them today and that was all we used. By them at MGC in Hanover or Saltwater Edge in RI or check your local tackle shops. You can also contact Jeck’s Jigs.
Total catch and release was a whopping 121 fish on light tackle – a record high for the 2021 season on Baymen Charters. Just an amazing morning of fishing on the bay…
Back at it Stay Posted: I start my my vacation tomorrow and have some much need time off the water. Best wishes to everyone heading out and wishing all a very happy Independence Day! God bless.

Note: We saw our fourth shark of the season today, a mako, that leaped clear of the water, about a six footer.
