Stripers Trickling In!
Greetings from Baymen Land! Here is a quick update.
Schoolies in singles and pairs starting to show in our bay and north of us. Bright fish locally, sea lice on very small fish north of us. The Cape has a lot of fish starting to show. Some anglers landing twenty fish an outing now. It will only get better and our bay should light up by mid-late May. Stay posted!
At lunch today I watched a whale swimming and feeding along the beach. Tons of bait out front with gulls and gannetts working it. No sign of fish on topwater yet… I ran the bay in the skiff for a quick look around late afternoon. Boat is running like a top! Bay temps inside the harbor: 52 degrees! Warm weather today and getting warmer with next few days temps in the high 70’s. I may take a recon mission shortly and see whats out there. Hoping for an early school of fish…
Blitz is still three weeks+ away.
