I have been fly fishing our local waters without a bump this weekend… Lots of wind as is typical for Spring in Baymen Land.

Tonight I fished the Blue Fish River to no avail. I also scouted front beach and bayside this am. No sign of fish or bait. The terns usually return about May 5th so I expect to see them this week on our bay. That is a big help in the spring because they pinpoint the bait in the bay and the bait tells you where the bass are. “Find the bait, find the fish” is truth on the water. If you have seen my video Birds – Our Eyes In The Sky, you know what a friend they are to the angler.

Aside from birds, “Reading The Water” is key to finding fish day in and day out. And a third truth to fishing the bay is “Time On The Water Is The Best Teacher.”

So we wait, knowing in a few weeks (or sooner), BAYMEN Land will come alive with birds, bait and bass. And you can bet Baymen Charters will be in the midst of it all…
