Intro to SW Fly Fishing Class
Over the past 27 years I have put a lot of people through my Intro To SW Fly Fishing class. I guide striped bass, so I teach from that perspective. A couple of the goals I always have in mind for my students: 1) Teach them how to double-haul 2) Teach them how to throw 70+ feet of line in four false casts and then master it in three. The reason? I like to tease them and say “there are no fish in the air”. We always have a lot of fun and it is great to see anglers improve right before your eyes.
My Intro to SW Fly Fishing Class is taught on the ball fields and classes are kept very small for 1-4 people max. They are fast paced and intensive classes that run about two hours. In that short time, we cover everything in saltwater fly fishing from A-Z, including: Rods/Reels/Lines/Leaders, basic knots, fly patterns, casting techniques, hooking/fighting/landing a fish (simulation). It is a great class and will bring you up to speed on how to get into fly fishing and improve your knowledge and fly casting skills.
