Happy November!
November Greetings from Capt. Dave & Baymen Guide Service, Inc!
We just wrapped a fabulous October of hunting for ruffed grouse, woodcock and snowshoe hare. And now we turn our attention to November deer hunting and maybe a bear hunt up north. We will also continue hunting for woodcock until the migration has passed through and we will be hunting for pa’tridge right through to the end of the year, snows permitting.
Today, there were stripers around in Baymen Land! A handful of small fish off Duxbury Beach, and a bunch of small fish in Sandwich. Lots of gannets diving off High Pines this am and lots of gulls working bait around the powder point bridge. Smelts? I am not sure…
Just remember, my friend, the late Tony Stetzko, still holds the MA state record for the largest striped bass ever caught on rod and reel: 73 lbs! And Tony landed it at Nauset Beach on Thanksgiving Day! He shares that record with two other anglers that have also caught a 73lb striped bass on rod and reel in past years: Ralph Church, and Charlie Cinto. So, something to shoot for this November!
I wish you all a great November. I will post a report with photos from our October hunting up north soon. Until then,
Tight Lines & Happy Hunting
Sincerely,
Capt. Dave
