Funny Story
I was driving down the beach road this am and a van pulls up on my tail and starts beeping his horn and waving his arms at me. My first thought was “Road Rage.” This continued and I finally pulled over and got out in the ready position for cuff and stuff. Turns out it was “Gover” a fellow fly fisherman and fly tier that has followed my Baymen Reports for years! We met in Lowes several months back and talked fly fishing and fly tying for some time.
Well, I immediately recognized him, we shook hands, and started right in on talking fly fishing, fly patterns, fish behavior, catches from last season, etc. It was glorious! Then, Gover pulls out his fly box and shows me his patterns and gives me THREE of his top personal flies he tied that crush the striped bass all season long! (see photo). Talked about getting me pumped up for the fishing season!
Well, moral of the story is, NEVER pull over to engage somebody in “Road Rage” – ever. Unless, of course, he is waving fly patterns at you and making fly rod casting motions.
HAPPY SPRING. Whose going to get their first one?
Sincerely,
Capt. Dave, BAYMEN, www.baymenlife.com 31 Years Guiding The Bay. Soli Deo Gloria!
