Fall Run Underway!
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
Great news: the striped bass Fall Run is underway and some nice schools of fish are pushing through heading south. The striped bass as you know, are migratory and spend the winter months in the Chesapeake, Hudson, and Delaware rivers. Most of them, however, go to the Chesapeake. That is the the prime breeding waters for young of the year striped bass.
With my season-ending rotator cuff tear, I am absolutely dying to be on the bay with my clients and friends. But there is no way I can put a boat in, work the gear, and pull a boat back out each day. I am back in PT and we are making huge progress once again and avoiding surgery!
Many thanks so SO MANY of you that have been reaching out to check up on me. And a big thanks to all of you that have invited me to fish with you. I wish I could go! And so many of you have offered to do anything you can to get me on the bay and into fish. I have the best clients on earth and I truly mean that. I am blessed by God.
So, I can’t fish or boat, but I can drive the beaches and shorelines and “scout” for fish. There are a lot of Fall Fish on the move right now. Schools of topwater striped bass. And tons of fall bait. Thanks to everyone sending me YOUR Baymen Reports. It is so exciting to hear how you are doing out there and to see pics and videos! How I wish I could be there.
Not much more I can do or say except I wish you all a fantastic fall season on the water. I will be back better and stronger than ever come Spring Blitz 2026! As you can imagine, with all the reschedules of hundreds of charters, I am booking up through 2028! We will get them done and I will get you all on the bass in the seasons ahead.
Tight Lines and enjoy The Fall Run!
Sincerely,
Capt. David Bitters, BAYMEN, baymenlife.com 32 Years Guiding The Bay. Still In Love.
Soli Deo Gloria!
