East Winds…!
“Wind from the east, fishing the least…” That saying that came off the Mayflower is still with us today. It is not a hard and fast rule, but very, very close!
I have not been about to get on the bay and into fish the past few days. E/NE and low pressure = equals very poor fishing, not to mention non-stop chop in my flats skiff. So, we continue to watch and wait for a break in the weather. Hopefully, the fish will still be migrating near-shore and continue to filter in and out of our bay on the way south. Not to be the pessimist, but if you have fished for a long time, you have no doubt seen a steady E/NE wind for days on end, pretty much tank the fall blitz inside our bay. Let’s hope that is not the case. I have 18 charters on stand-by to finish out the month of September…
In other news, I have openings in October and November for semi-guided and guided hunts up north for grouse, woodcock, fall turkey, bear, and deer. Two nights/three days for 1-2 anglers. Longer packages are available for four nights/six days. E-mail or call for more info.
We are hoping to be back on the bay tomorrow. Check back and stay posted:
