6 Fish
The NE wind continues… I know this is sounding like a broken record, but the E/NE just won’t go away.
This morning, we had light South wind and I thought the bay was going to light up like Christmas – wrong. May is over tomorrow and it has been the slowest May for BAYMEN in 21 years. We had a few days of intense fishing and even broke 100 fish landed and released one day this past week. Other days we landed 82 and 42 fish. Those are amazing days on the water. But they are few and far between this season, and use to be our norm during the Spring Blitz in May.
Word on the water is “Big fish south of us” and I have been hearing that for the past month. Some big fish have been caught south of Dux/Ply bay and even a few north of us. Only a couple of fish approaching 40″ inches or better have been landed in our bay this season. And for the record, BAYMEN has landed just one keeper this season so far…
NE blowing hard this evening into Saturday. Lets hope it leaves us soon and those big fish south of us fill our bay.
Stay posted and good luck if you are heading out.
