25 Fish, 1 Keeper
Friday, May 29, 2015
On board today I had repeat customer, Billy Tedeschi, for LT striped bass.
After seven days straight of SW winds that made it impossible to get on the bay, today it finally layed down flat. It was dead-calm and gorgeous out there! At first light, we found several schools of striped bass around the bay feeding on top-water. Plenty of gulls to help locate the fish.
We landed bass on Yo-Zuri poppers, rubber crank baits and Baymen Universal jigs. All sight casting to breaking fish.
Our best fish of the morning was a fat little 30″ incher that slammed the Baymen Universal jig and put up a great fight on light tackle gear.
Total catch and release for the morning: 25 fish, 1 keeper. A great morning on a lovely bay and such a relief to have the SW winds behind us.
