23 Fish on LT
Greeting from BAYMEN!
On board today, Dr. Brenda Chapman, Day 3: Light Tackle Striped Bass.
At first light, a sprinkling of rain. Then a torrential downpour! It came down in buckets but the fish did not care. We had 12 fish in the first hour on LT. Winds were NE and chop was manageable. We worked topwater under birds in rips and channels.
About two hours later, the rain was long past and the bay settled down. Fish were still on topwater but the bite began to slow up. We started in Duxbury, ran into Kingston, down into Plymouth and then back into Duxbury. Some spots held fish and some did not. We had our greatest success in that downpour. It was non-stop fishing.
Total catch and release today was 23 striped bass. All on LT rubber crankbaits. Most fish were topwater under birds, and a few were down on the bottom on structure. All the bass were chasing bait.
Another great morning with a great angler for a total of three days of fishing with Dr. Brenda Chapman.
Back at it. Stay Posted: Two more months of solid fishing ahead!
