19 Fish On Light Tackle
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN!
On board today, Bill Hulme and his two boys for light tackle striped bass.
At first light, high tide and dead-calm flat conditions. Just gorgeous. We found topwater (!) at first light and fished rubber crankbaits for good hour and hooked up on a bunch of striped bass. We even got a fine keeper landed by Bill. A great fight on LT.
Next up, we ran to a spot in the bay that has produced some decent fishing on Baymen Jigs in deep water. Very, very few fish here today but we did hook into a few.
After rubber cranking and jigging, we decided to run the bay and fish topwater poppers up on the flats. That was an absolute blast! We had some nice chase downs and several great hits on the topwater plugs with crimped barbs.
We wrapped up our morning with 19 fish landed and one dinner fish that went home with the anglers. It was just a perfect morning on the bay and fishing multiple tackle and different ways was a lot of fun!
I am off the bay for the weekend and back out again next week. Wishing everyone great fishing and fun times ahead.
Sincerely,
Capt. David Bitters, BAYMEN, www.baymenlife.com 31 Years Guiding The Bay. Still In Love.
