14 Fish on LT
MONDAY 8/30/2021
On board today, repeat client Dave Mulcahy & Co. of Oh,Deer tick-mosquito- deer control, for light tackle striped bass.
At first light, calm seas and light S wind. Birds, bait and bass on topwater around the bay. The fish were ultra-selective today, spooky of the boat, and very fast moving chasing 2″ inch peanut bunker – a hard bait to imitate with light tackle due to it’s small size.
The weather was lovely and my crew worked hard and earned every fish today. We got one keeper that was 28″ inches and released, along with all the other fish. Winds kicked up SSW the second half of the morning and the bay was choppy and the bite shut down.
The technique today was fishing a rubber crank bait VERY slowly with a bounce-bounce thrown in. The retrieve is what I call The Death Crawl because it is so slow.
All in all, a lovely morning on the bay with14 fish landed and released with a great crew on light tackle.
