The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission is about to set in motion major changes to striped bass management to rebuild the stocks. 2025 was voted to be a “status quo” year. But 2026 and beyond are going to be major management years, as I have mentioned many times to my charters and posted in my Baymen Reports. Not to alarm you, as it is only at the public hearings stage, but on the table are total and complete No Target areas to be closed to striped bass fishing. So, be prepared and be aware, big changes coming to striped bass management for 2026 that will effect all of us in the striped bass fishing industry on the Atlantic coast.
