Weather Delays…
Greetings from BAYMEN!
What a week with the winds. Not conducive to fly fishing, and still a rocking ride for LT. So, we patiently wait for it to pass, as we have over the past 30 years guiding on the bay. It goes with the guiding business and you can’t control it. It is one of the hardest parts about being a guide.
The fall run will start around the 25th of August and began to intensify for about four weeks after that. Then, on our bay at least, it will began to wane until mid-October when we hit the “gap days” before all the fish have passed through moving south to the Chesapeake, Delaware, and Hudson where striped bass spend their winters and also spawn.
I am booking 2023 & 2024 right now. I have no dates left for 2022. Book early if you want to fish with me in a future season. Many anglers buy up blocks of 6 or 10 trips and dates go quickly. I am about 60% booked for 2023 and about 30% booked for 2024 as of today. I have no dates left for 2022.
That’s the word at the moment. Once these winds lay down, it will be full-steam ahead – again – right into mid-October. Can’t wait to have you on board and to put you on the fish. 2022 has been just great and I expect the next eight weeks to be wonderful.
Tight Lines.
