To A Great Weekend!
Greetings from Capt. Dave & BAYMEN Life – your spiritual guru guide for all things good, wholesome and pure. Beautiful pre-spring day today with lots of sunshine – and lots of trout stocked in the ponds and lots of clams along the bay! And soon – lots and LOTS of striped bass…
Tie some flies, dig some clams, catch some trout, clean the kitty box, run the dogs, split some wood, ride the bike, do the wash, go to the dump…LOL… Weekends in BAYMEN Land. I did fire up the boat though, and it was good to hear the engine purr. Tune up, repaint, and a few other odds and ends and then I will finish the gear prep for opening day. New rods and reels, new lines, new tackle, new fly rods, new fly lines, and lots of new flies including my Baymen Universal – the go-to for about 70% of our fishing depending on the time of year, the bait, the wind direction, the tide…
Redwing black birds have arrived and the woodcock have started to pass through. Soon the spring peepers will be heard in the swamps in the evenings and singing birds will be waking us up at dawn – unless you’ve already been at work for a few hours like most guides. 2021 will be my 29th year guiding on the bay. Time and tide wait for no man, not even the Captain.
So, I wish you a great weekend with family and friends or even solo. Whatever you got going on, it’s all good. Everything is new again and spring is on our doorstep.
Tight Lines.
