I fished the Bluefish River from the shore on the dropping today with my 8 wt. No bumps, no signs of bait. Winds were ENE as typical for this time of year. 9 wt would of been been better to combat the wind but I just love casting the TFO BVK 8 wt! Smooth as butter – as long as there is no wind and your line is greased up.
So, I have started my search for the first striped bass of the season in our local waters. I may run the bay later today or tomorrow for a quick RECON trip. Not expecting to see any fish for another week or so. But after that, the cadence will slowly pick up and we will be into the SPRING BLITZ in a few weeks! Can’t wait!
I will post my daily BAYMEN Reports right here at baymenlife.com all season long…!
